Excited for a new challenge from Bonnie at The Faith Barista. A new word to reflect upon each week of the advent season. I've been playing around with poetry in my journals, notebooks and random pieces of paper. An old passion of mine from long ago, I found it not too hard to begin again. One of my favorites was the haiku. Short, sweet, and to the point.
Hope.
In Romans if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience (Romans 8:25 GNB) In Colossians, When the true message, the Good News, first came to you, you heard about the hope it offers. So your faith and love are based on what you hope for, which is kept safe for you in heaven (Colossians 1:5GNB)
Do you see it too? do you see how everyone gets weary this time of year? we've all run out of steam? are we trying too hard, working too hard, running here and there, trying to keep up with everyone else's status updates in our news feed? Stop. It's time to reevaluate. You don't have to do all the things, be all of the people, run to and fro (all the while running ragged)! Take a moment and remember it's not about the things of this world. This time of year, it's all about the celebration of the Christ! How he came, how he died for all and how he is coming back again!
We need to have HOPE stirring in our hearts this season. The hope of Jesus!

Krista, you said it so well. Yes so many of us are tired this time of year with busyness and expectations. It all comes back to Jesus Christ and celebrating the gift of life He gives. I'm visiting from Bonnie's blog.
